Last Action Hero (1993)
Directed by John McTiernan, Last Action Hero is a self-aware action-comedy that blurs the line between reality and fiction. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Jack Slater, a larger-than-life action hero who is pulled into the real world by a magic movie ticket wielded by a young fan, Danny (Austin OBrien). With sharp parodies of action-movie tropes and over-the-top set pieces, the film is both a loving tribute to and a clever critique of Hollywood blockbusters, filled with humor, heart, and explosive action.
